Lakes Area Caged Bird Club
Local bird club meeting every third Thursday evening, 7:00 PM at the Oak Lawn Town Hall just east of Brainerd on Hwy18. We now have a monthly demonstration by members and birds!
Fall Bird Fair scheduled for October 28th, 2007. This will be held at the Brainerd Armory, 1115 Wright street, $2 admission, 10 and under free. Some Vendor spots still available $25/table, email for details.
Spring Bird fair was a good start
We would like to thank everyone that participated in the Bird fair here in Brainerd, MN this Spring. There were a number of new faces with plenty of new birds and supplies! We are looking for vendors that would be interested in selling birds or creative bird supplies for the Fall fair. Come join us! Monthly meetings are held now at the Oak Lawn Town Hall. During the summer hours, meetings will start at 7:00 PM. We plan to keep this 3rd Thursday of every month schedule!
Each meeting consists of a short introduction of new faces, a bird topic of the month, Q&A of all kinds (bird behavior, species info, supplies requests, etc), and discussion and decisions on upcoming events. We now have a short talk or demonstration by a different member each meeting. Plan to join us and learn about some great birds!
Our primary goals thus far are:
Education-to provide info on avian disease, care, rescue, community support.
Connection-to link you with a network of pet stores, vets, breeders and adoption centers to find what you are looking for, and to connect the community with fellow bird lovers.
Support-to help answer immediate questions, share ideas and experiences, get involved in what's happening in the bird world!
